You must have heard about this, but if not, we’re here to make sure you have. Army veteran Capt. Tom Moore completed 100 laps of his garden ahead of his 100th birthday in April in order to raise £1,000 for NHS key workers. To say he met this target would be a HUGE understatement. He actually raised close to £33 million and there was no shortage of gratitude for his efforts. In addition to being met with a guard of honour from the 1st Battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment upon completing his final lap, he received messages of support and thanks from people across the country, including NHS workers, sports personalities and politicians, was sent around 140,000 birthday cards, received the Pride of Britain Award, was made an Honorary Colonel and has since received a knighthood!
